Below is a quick summary of our trip to Bora Bora. You can read the full report on my blog as well :)

Intercontinental Thalasso Bora Bora

We stayed at 3 different resorts during our trip to the Polyensian island and the Intercontinental Thalasso Bora Bora was definitely the best one! When we arrive at the airport, the boat shuttle is waiting for us. The drive from the airport to the hotel is simply breathtaking. The lagoon water is pure blue, with various shades. I was just in awe throughout the whole drive. We both got really excited as soon as we started to see the overwater bungalows. I believe the first hotel we passed was the Four Seasons, followed by the St. Regis, Le Meridien, and then the Thalasso.

The bungalow were HUGE! We were seated and given welcome drink and our check in package, along with information about the meal package. We were then taken to our room. We got upgraded to Sapphire category (from Emerald category) due to our Ambassador membership (totally worth it)! The room is absolutely beautiful! Exactly like how I have imagined (after seeing hundreds of pictures from Trip Advisor.

The deck is amazing. It felt so surreal to jump to the lagoon..feels like a giant pool with sand bottom. Water is cool and it’s great to take a dip to cool off. We ordered room service for lunch one time to eat from the deck and enjoy the view it was amazing! One of our most favorite activity is also to read books on our deck…the view is just..amazing!

Food at the hotel is generally pretty good. Breakfast is always buffet, and for dinner you can choose at one of their 2 restaurants: Sands or Reef. The sands are usually 3 course dinner included (drinks are separate – water is $6.20). Reef has buffets on Monday and Friday (with free Polynesian show), and Wednesdays they have a themed night – when we were there it was a lobster 4 course meal, which is included if you have the meal plan. Tuesday/Thursdays at the Reef is 3 course meals, similar to Sands.

The Thalasso has lots of free activities that you can take advantage of (pareo demonstration, coconut show, etc). They also have free kayak, canoe, tennis, snorkeling equipment that you can use.. Also, everyday they would deliver this newsletter with specials for the spa (I would look out for those specials). The spa is great and I highly recommend it!

Overall, we had such a great time in Bora Bora and at the Intercontinental Thalasso! Definitely recommend visiting this place, especially for couples!
